Committees

Veterinary Health Committee

Veterinary Health Committee supervises all field activities of CAU to ensure health and wellbeing of dogs is everyone’s priority. To this effect, the committee publishes periodic communication and educational materials regarding vaccination, health checks, surgical procedures, elective procedures, etc. Veterinary Health Committee organises regular community clinics with free vaccination, neutering, and spaying of community dogs. The committee is also in charge of a vet tent and microchipping at all our dog events.

Training, Judging, and Certification Committee

Training and Certification Committee is currently developing a number of training textbooks, from basic at-home training to detailed textbooks for working dogs trials, following the International Utility Dog Regulations (FCI-IGP). The trials are planned for 2026, giving the dog trainers and dogs enough time to prepare for the first national trials.

Membership and Events Committee

In charge of planning all our shows and events, the committee considers event relevance, event grounds, and coordinates with sponsors and members, to provide best solutions for all.

Finance Committee

Finance committee oversees the income and the expenditure of the association.

Science and Development Committee

In charge of preservation of the three Ugandan breeds: Ugandan Hound, Ugandan Herder, and Ugandan Curly Dog. This committee oversees and confirms the hip and elbow scores, and gene testing reports.

Publicity Committee

In charge of developing communication strategies, publicity, and social media presence.
