FCI Breed Standards

International guidelines for conformation and character.

As a member of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), the Canine Association of Uganda adheres strictly to the official FCI breed standards. These standards describe the ideal characteristics, temperament, and appearance of each recognized breed, ensuring consistency and health worldwide.

The FCI currently recognizes over 350 breeds, classified into 10 distinct groups based on their function, morphology, and history.

What is the Pure Breed Registry?

The Pure Breed Registry is the official studbook maintained by the Canine Association of Uganda. As an FCI partner, our pedigree documents are recognized internationally. Registering your dog ensures its lineage is preserved and allows participation in official dog shows and breeding programs.
